I don't want alot for christmas,
There is just one thing I need,
I don't care about the presents,
underneath the christmas tree,
I just want you for my own,
More than you would ever know,
Make my wish come true,
All I want for christmas,
Is you!

HoHoHo!

How many times in a year will you open up your old drawer, brush away the dust, dig out your old CD, look at it and say: "Yes! This is the one." Put it in the player, listen to the Ruldolph the Red nose reindeer, Jingle bell rock, Last Christmas, etc, and think: "Holy shucks! It's christmas!"

How many times in a year will you go downtown to Orchard road, merely passing by, but realise that the lights are brightly shining down on you. The Huge xmas tree stands at the atrium, welcoming you, mascots of Santa Claus ringing his bell, Wishing you a Merry Christmas.

How many times in a year do you go shopping at any random mall, go to its departmental store and realise it's the sales! You look closer and see that it's 50% discount: Xmas Special! You glance around you and notice the crowd hovering over the merchandise, the queues so long that it makes you go: "Aww, whathehell."

How many times in a year do you plead your mother, "Mummy! Let's get a new tree this Christmas!" She deliberates for a while, complaining about it being more troublesome to have to set it up, decorate it, etc. Then you go shopping and realise one five foot high tree can cost around $160+, not counting the ornaments needed to decorate it. "But it'll be nice to have a new look for our tree," you say, then you get distracted by all the other beautiful ornaments. "The miselttoe looks good too." Your mother nods, and the two of you have the sparkle in your eyes, like you've just seen gold or something.

How many times in a year are you allowed to splurge on something that you want, for yourself, for your mother, father, brother, sister, aunt, grandma, grandpa, cousins, or simply friends. You planned on window shopping and then some pretty gift caught your eye. You think to yourself : " Oh! That's cute. My ____ would like that!" Then you ponder for an hour whether you should get him/her this or that, that or this, or that other one.

How many times in a year do you switch on the television one rainy night, cuddled up on your sofa, cosy after dinner and realise the movie is " Chirstmas with the kranks" or " Love Actually" or any random show which involves Santa Claus, a Christmas tree, some presents or a reindeer.
Then you think to yourself: "How far away are we till Christmas?" You do some mental calculation and realise it's only about a week away.

How many times in a year do your close ones, loved ones, come to visit you. Or you go to visit them, and you shake hands, give warm hugs, with huge smiles and say: "Merry Christmas!" You settle yourself to a comfortable seat, have a look at what's on tv, look across the room and realise your cousins are already here. You spring up from your seat and go catch up with him/her. You realise your parents are caught up in their own conversations, everyone enjoying each other's company. The Christmas tree in a corner glittering brightly, attractive-looking presents underneath,  soothing carols keeping a serene mood.

How many times in a year do you see your mothers (or for some like me), fathers, excitedly discussing about what food to be prepared for Christmas eve, or the day itself. You join in the fun, joking about having turkey and ham and log cake. Your parents give you the "dream on" look, and settle for some more Singaporean-ish dishes. The day arrives and you set up the table, laying servettes and cutlery in place, sniff in the mouth-watering smell of food, turn to your mothers/fathers and say: "Mummy, did you really make that?" And he/she swats you lightly on the arm.

How many times in a year do you gather together, hand in hand, saying a prayer of thanks. You know the significance of Christmas day and how it all came together. You smile a little, look up at the cross on the wall, and think: "Happy birthday, Jesus."

How many times in a year do you keep telling yourself that it's the festive season, "I shall enjoy it to the max, I will absorb the spirit as much as I can, before it's all over."

How many times in a year does all of the above happens, and then you decide to type a random post about Christmas.

It's about only once a year, during the month of december.
So, enjoy it.
